This 1A Active Balancer retrofit kit is designed specifically for Pylontech US2000 / US3000 Type B / Plus batteries. It’s a simple plug-and-play DIY install, supplied with clear instructions so you can get your system running smoothly again.
If your battery is showing a red alarm LED, failing to reach 100% SOC, or suddenly dropping from 50% to 10% SOC, it’s almost certainly caused by cell imbalance. The factory-fitted BMS in Pylontech batteries only uses passive 51 Ω resistors for balancing — meaning it can take days or even weeks to correct a 100 mV difference.
This kit works alongside the built-in passive balancer, providing active 1 A energy transfer between cells for fast, precise correction. It comes complete with a Bluetooth monitoring module, allowing you to view live cell voltages and control settings directly from a free iOS or Android app. You can even set the balance start/stop voltage thresholds and monitor cell voltages in real time from your smartphone.

Once installed the active balancer will automatically balance the highest or lowest cell and there is no need to consistently monitor the cell imbalance. It will take a few charge cycles to reach an imbalance of <30mV.

The battery I fitted the balancer to has been back in service for 2 days & it's given it a new lease of life. Previously it was shutting down at 67% SOC due to high voltage on one cell & also shutting down early due to low voltage on another cell. A rudimentary test calculated that it's discharge capacity was around 0.6kWh! The balancer has improved that to around 1.3kWh at 85% DOD which allowing for degradation & round trip losses isn't too bad. The SOH has therefore more than doubled. I reiterate the observation by the earlier reviewer about Pylontech BatteryView readings while the balancer is active... the reading for the 2 cells being balanced will be too high/low (the balancer can be toggled off on the app if you temporarily want a stable reading). I've decided to fit this kit to all my original US2000b batteries because it should give them increased performance & also prolong their life by preventing cell LV & HV which is clearly detrimental to health.
The instructions are excellent & comprehensive which makes the fitting process straightforward. Bluetooth communication works well. I've not put the battery back into service yet but I'll update the review when I do.
