Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Design & Configuration Service
This service is charged on an hourly basis. Please contact us to obtain a total cost estimate for your specific requirements.
This service provides bespoke system design and configuration support for domestic and light-industrial battery energy storage systems. It can be applied to both new installations and upgrades to existing systems, covering a wide range of low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) battery architectures.
Systems may be grid-connected, off-grid, or hybrid, and can include:
-
All-in-one hybrid inverters
-
AC-coupled battery systems operating alongside grid-tied inverters
-
Modular LV battery stacks
-
HV battery strings with dedicated BMS and control units
-
Systems based on platforms such as Victron and comparable inverter ecosystems
What’s included
-
Review of power requirements, load profiles, and energy usage
-
Assessment of solar PV sizing and battery capacity
-
Guidance on LV vs HV architecture selection and system topology
-
Recommended battery configuration, including series/parallel arrangements where applicable
-
Guidance on BMS communication architecture (CAN / RS485 or equivalent)
-
Advice on parallel connection limits, current sharing, balancing, and protection considerations
-
Recommended inverter-side configuration settings (battery type, charge and discharge limits, control modes)
What you’ll receive
-
Clear system architecture and layout diagrams
-
Recommended cable sizes, protection devices, and connector pin-outs where relevant
-
Step-by-step configuration guidance for control and communications
-
A concise written design and configuration summary, suitable for installer handover or future reference
What this service does NOT include
-
On-site installation or site visits
-
Electrical installation, testing, or commissioning
-
Firmware development or modification of batteries, BMS, or inverters
-
Responsibility for third-party installer workmanship or regulatory sign-off
Important notes
-
LV and HV battery systems vary significantly by manufacturer and inverter platform. This service documents a best-practice engineering approach based on real-world integration experience but does not replace manufacturer documentation, certifications, or warranties.
-
Final responsibility for compliance with local electrical regulations, grid codes, and safety standards remains with the installer or system owner.
Required information (requested after purchase)
-
Inverter make and model
-
Battery type (LV or HV), quantities, and configuration
-
Intended communication method (CAN, RS485, or vendor-specific interface)
-
Any known constraints, site limitations, or existing system issues

For such (what appears to me complicated) subject, Ben from Servtec is Calm clear and concise.
His response is second to none and his knowledge has guided me through a system redesign.
Thank you and I will be adding Servtec to speed dial.
