Battery-to-Battery Parallel Cables

Compatibility:
Designed for Pylontech US2000, US3000, and US5000 batteries, these cables facilitate parallel connections between batteries.  They can also be used to connect Solis and other inverters that use the Amphenol RADSOK/SURLOK Socket to connect batteries,

Cable Features:

  • Cable Length: 300mm to 3m
  • Connectors: Equipped with genuine Amphenol RADSOK/SURLOK Plus plugs on both ends for secure and reliable connections.
  • Construction: Made with EV 25mm² (4 AWG) flexible cable, rated for 180°C and 1500 V DC, typically capable of handling up to 120A in free air at 20°C
  • Usage Scenarios:
    • Ideal for installations where batteries are not stacked, such as side-by-side setups or campervan installations.
    • Suitable for challenging layouts requiring extended cable reach.
  • High Current Applications: For loads exceeding 120A, it is recommended to use an additional set of cables to a bus bar or the load.

Important — Installation Guidance

These cables are rated for up to 120A in free air at 20°C. The installation must be designed so that the current through any single cable does not exceed 120A. Where the system load (charge or discharge) may exceed this figure, run an additional parallel set of cables to a bus bar, or split the load accordingly — do not rely on a single cable pair beyond its rating, this include parallel cables between batteries.

The 120A rating applies only in free air. To achieve this rating the cables must not be installed within an enclosure, conduit, trunking, or any other enclosed space, and must not be bundled tightly together, as this restricts heat dissipation and significantly reduces the safe current-carrying capacity. If the cables must be enclosed or grouped, the current must be de-rated accordingly.

When using 1.6m cables between batteries we recommend the following:

  • Use matched cable lengths. For batteries connected in parallel, all interconnect cables (and the main cables to the inverter/bus bar) should be of equal length and cross-section. This keeps resistance balanced across the bank and ensures even current sharing, charging and discharging between batteries.
  • Account for voltage drop. A 1.6m run is longer than a typical stacked-battery link. Confirm the resulting voltage drop is acceptable for your system and within the battery and inverter manufacturer's tolerances.
  • Provide correct circuit protection. Fusing, breakers and isolation must be sized and fitted in accordance with the battery and inverter manufacturer's specifications and applicable wiring regulations.
  • Seat and torque connectors correctly. Ensure RADSOK/SURLOK Plus plugs are fully engaged and, where applicable, tightened to the specified torque to maintain a safe, low-resistance, waterproof connection.
  • Keep cables supported and protected. Secure routing to avoid strain on the connectors, abrasion, or contact with sharp edges and heat sources.

Installation should be carried out by a suitably qualified and competent person in accordance with the battery manufacturer's instructions (e.g. Pylontech), the inverter manufacturer's guidance, and all relevant local electrical regulations. The buyer is responsible for verifying that these cables are suitable for their specific application. We accept no liability for damage, injury or loss resulting from incorrect specification, installation or use.
